What do the Kids Think of Me?

On arrival at one of my after school clubs earlier this week, I was greeted by a very happy and excited group of six year olds who gleefully handed me this beautiful work of art. They had created it in their spare time with such care and attention that I couldn’t help but shed a few tears when they handed it over – I did not look cool! I was so grateful and humbled and felt as if I’d been given such a phenomenal prize, it'll be one that's hard to beat.

It’s the first term I’ve run my conservation art workshops for children of this age and this gift is evidence that not only are the kids enjoying it, they’re taking it all in and understanding that even just the tiniest of changes in our daily lives can help protect the future health of planet earth, something which is of such paramount importance today. Now all I need to do is find a frame large enough to fit this masterpiece...
