My little one asked me to draw her a butterfly so here is my favourite; Blue Morpho. I’ve been lucky enough to see some of these in their natural habitats in South & Central America and they’re mesmerizing; so uplifting and beautiful in flight.
Whilst my daughter was drawing and colouring in the flowers, we chatted about how these pretty butterflies are at risk due to parts of their rainforests being cut down. She listened well, but then legged it outside to play in the sunshine when she spied the paddling pool. As she should. I sketched the rest of the picture and used oil pastels for the background.
