What do the Kids Think of Me?

On arrival at one of my after school clubs earlier this week, I was greeted by a thrilled and excited group of six-year-olds who gleefully handed me this beautiful work of art. They had created it in their spare time with such care and attention that I couldn't help but shed a few tears when they handed it over – I did not look cool! I was so grateful and humbled and felt as if I'd been given such a phenomenal prize, it'll be one that's hard to beat.

It's the first term I've run my conservation art workshops for children of this age. This gift is evidence that not only are the kids enjoying it, but they're also taking it all in, and understanding that even if we make the tiniest of changes in our daily lives, we can help protect the future of planet earth. All of which is of paramount importance today. Now all I need to do is find a frame large enough to fit this masterpiece.
